SecondHand Smoke Kills!
Something has to be done! Second Hand Smoke is a serious health hazard that affects more than 3,000 non-smokers every year. From lung cancer deaths, respiratory disease, and heart disease, SHS is a major health concern. Everyone must work together to reduce exposure to SHS, especially on university campuses which should be leading the way regarding healthy initiatives and lifestyles.

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG
WHO WE ARE: Developed in the fall of 2008 at The George Washington University (GWU), Campuses for Clean Air is a campaign that proposes campus-wide smoking bans on all university campuses in the District. In order to accomplish this goal, Campuses for Clean Air will form a coalition with all District universities and other interested parties. The campaign will influence university administrators to revise current smoking policies and ban smoking campus-wide.
SMOKE FREE INSIDE & OUT: Most campuses nationwide have now banned smoking indoors. It is our goal to ban smoking outside of buildings, too, because even outdoor passive smoking poses a serious threat to human health.
This blog is to serve as an open discussion board regarding this issue. Please make a note as to which university you are affiliated with, if any.

AMEN!!!!!
I get on my soapbox every day- day in day out- mostly because I have asthma and get so ill. I have learned to cover up my face and make a scene to send a clear message that second hand smoke is killing me- literally- mentally and physically. I have spent hundreds and thousands of dollars- treating my condition. . you will be hearing from me a lot (you always do!) Thank you for your efforts!!!!

Oh yes. . . I failed to mention. . and one of my next blog posts on my blog will be about the "Old Virginia Tobacco Company"
http://www.ovtc.com/about.html
Retail Location in Pentagon City Mall. . .
If you can imagine . . .THEY ALLOW SMOKING IN and I said IN the RETAIL STORE. . how did I find out?? I was shopping in the Gap. . when my hound dog nose for Tobacco thought what it sniffed was Menthol. . . but it was Cigars. . . I will be on the case tomorrow! Details on my blog to to be continued. . .
And how do Virginia restaurants INSIDE A MALL let their patrons smoke? Case: Tyson's Corner. The restaurants open directly into the mall space, and even have seating in the lobby area by the escalators! The smoke just drifts on out... and it's all still indoors. Unbelievable.
Yeah I don't get the smoking in restaurants in malls. Pentagon City Mall has the same thing. I can't remember the name of the restaurant: TGI Fridays or Ruby Tuesday's? It's so gross when you walk by there. BIG turn off!
